Nuclear Power Station Doel I & II

The Doel Nuclear Power Station is one of the two nuclear power plants in Belgium. The plant is located on the bank of the Scheldt near Antwerp. The first commercial nuclear reactor in Belgium, Doel I, was taken into service in 1974. Six more were connected to the grid during the following ten years, amongst which Doel II.

As a result of the ongoing maintenance activities Ivan Janssen has been requested to update and review the general conditions of contract. He finalised the research of contractor’s pre-qualification and tailored tender documents to the specific requirements for the nuclear industry.

Being responsible for the contract strategy, Ivan Janssen prepared the specific contract conditions of routine maintenance and minor construction works for scaffolding, piping and insulation activities using measured term contracts.
